An Yoshizawa

ㅤ She was a young woman whose life was tangled in countless ways—each thread stained in deep crimson, a shade that seemed to define her existence. tulips, blood, and something like scarlet lingered quietly in her story. ㅤ

- CHARACTER INFORMATION -

An Yoshizawa !

ㅤ She had her eyes like a sunstone, red that resembles mere bravery and determinationㅤ

An is naturally charismatic, expressive, and super easy to remember, drawing people in with her warmth, honesty, and confidence. She's very open emotionally and cares a lot, often encouraging folks and creating real connections. At the same time, she's got a deep drive to understand herself beyond what others see fit for her. So beneath her bright exterior lies a lot of introspection. She can be impulsive and intense, sometimes overly focused on how she's perceived. Yet, she's really resilient and compassionate, determined to define herself, not as some experiment, weapon, or others' version of a memory.

Concept !

I wanted An to be someone unique – not just another character in a story, but a concept that means something personal to me. For the TEKKEN series, An became my dream reality and desired reality OC. She's the character version of the story I've always wished to explore in depth. So, she embodies the narrative world I'd love to live in.I picked Leo Kliesen on purpose—can you believe it? I've always found Leo super endearing, both for his design and personality, and because the creators intentionally made his identity up for grabs. This left room for fan interpretation, which I thought was pretty awesome. So, I got inspired and ran with it myself. In my take, Leo is male, uses he/they pronouns, and identifies as omnisexual, pansexual, and bisexual. Right from the start, I had plans to make him a big emotional player and a love interest too. My main idea was having Emma Kliesen, Leo's mom, save An during her early experiments. This led to Leo and An becoming buddies since childhood.Their early bond became a key part of my plan, keeping Leo essential as more than just a background character. He serves as An’s steady emotional support and evolves into her partner down the line. The name started with Akina Yoshizawa, given by Akina Yoshizawa from concept and research. I then rejigged it to feel more personal. I went with “An” as her first name, which I got from An Shiraishi from Project Sekai—a character I absolutely love. Her personality and design just stuck with me. "An" seemed straightforward, catchy, and adaptable. It gave the sense of growth throughout various phases of the character’s journey. On the other hand, “Akina” functioned as her study code name, hinting at her roots as a research subject, not a kid. For the last name, I borrowed Yoshizawa from Sumire Yoshizawa of Persona 5—another one of my all-time favorite characters. In the end, the name blends identity and inspiration from several beloved creative references.I picked red as An’s character color because it wasn’t just random. It links to personal stuff like my college alma mater, and it shows the emotions I wanted to connect with her identity. This red color represents everything about her – her eyes, that she’s from an experiment, her risky possibilities, and the fiery feelings she tries so hard to control. Really, the red serves two roles: it’s her warning color and her identity color at the same time. Finally, An’s creation was not something I built alone. I also had strong support from my two friends, Gipsy and Darky, who contributed significantly to her character design and development. Their input helped shape her into something more cohesive, balanced, and visually and emotionally compelling. Through collaboration, brainstorming, and shared creative energy, An became more than just an idea—she became a fully realized character concept that reflects both personal inspiration and collective creativity. Finally, An’s creation wasn't something I built on my own. I got tons of help from my friends Gipsy and Darky. They were really helpful in designing and developing her character. Because of their input, An turned out to be more cohesive, balanced, and a lot more compelling both visually and emotionally. Through teamwork, brainstorming sessions, and the shared creative vibe, An evolved way beyond just an idea—she became a totally fleshed-out character. This character showed both my personal inspiration and our joint creativity.
